Philips Hue widgets and Control Center controls for iPhone

Switch a room on or off from the Home Screen, Control Center, the Lock Screen or the Action button, without opening the app.

Turn lights on and off in one tap

Opening an app just to switch off the hallway light takes too long. HueCommand adds interactive widgets and a room control to iOS, so the rooms you use most are always one tap away.

These are native WidgetKit widgets and Controls. Tapping one sends the command straight to your Hue Bridge without opening the app.

Home Screen widgets

To add one, touch and hold an empty area of the Home Screen, tap Edit, then Add Widget, and search for Command. Touch and hold the widget and choose Edit Widget to pick which rooms it shows. The widgets work on iPhone and iPad.

Control Center, Lock Screen and Action button (iOS 18)

On iOS 18 or later the Room Lights control can be placed in three places:

Add it from the controls gallery in Control Center (tap + while editing), then choose the room.

Widgets are for home

Widgets and controls talk to your Bridge over your home network, so they're designed for when you're at home. To control your lights while you're out, open the app with remote access (Pro) turned on, or use a Siri Shortcut, which can reach your Bridge through the Philips Hue cloud when it isn't reachable locally (with Pro and remote access signed in).

Tips for choosing rooms

Each tap checks the room's current state on the Bridge before toggling. If someone else has already switched the lights on or off, the widget still does what you expect.

Pro feature

Home Screen widgets and the Control Center, Lock Screen and Action button control are part of Pro. Without Pro the widget shows an upgrade prompt instead of your rooms. Pro is available monthly, yearly or as a one-time lifetime unlock, and it also includes remote access, geofencing, multi-bridge, bridge backup, the energy dashboard, Entertainment streaming and AI scenes. Controlling lights inside the app is always free.

Widgets and controls are only on iPhone and iPad. On Mac, use the keyboard shortcuts. On Apple Watch, use the Watch app.
